Part of our whole school ethos is concern for others who are less fortunate than ourselves, whether it be in the United Kingdom or abroad.
Each term some Year 6 children are chosen to be Charity Monitors and their contribution is invaluable in producing posters and raising awareness amongst their peers and helping at events.
Every year we support a number of charities who hold annual events. We have raised funds in a number of different ways:-
Jeans for Genes, Macmillan Nurses, Children in Need, Poppy Appeal and the Red Nose charity have all benefitted.
We have had a wonderful year of charity fundraising and we have been delighted with the children’s imaginative ideas. Over the year, we have been lucky enough to be involved with many child-led events and fundraisers including designing and selling emoji badges and pet care leaflets as well as running a charity stall at the Christmas Bazaar. The charities which were chosen to support in 2016/2017 were Water Aid, PDSA and ASSERT.
We have raised an amazing £7153.12 to be split between the three charities. On top of that, we have also raised an extra £2196.89 for our usual standalone charities such as Children in Need and the Poppy Appeal.
