At Chandlings we are celebrating the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (S.T.E.M.) subjects during the week commencing 12th March. There will be many activities during S.T.E.M. week and the weeks leading up to it. We are keen to make children aware of the diversity and variety of opportunities the S.T.E.M. subjects provide. At the same time we would like to challenge gender stereotyping/inequality in these professions.
Year 5 have been learning about body systems in their Science lessons. They used the tablets, a t-shirt and augmented reality to 'look' inside their body at their body systems. The children loved this S.T.E.M. approach to learning and there was much excitement when they 'saw' their heart beating and their digestive system.
